What is IFT?
Interferential therapy uses two medium-frequency currents that cross in the treatment area to create a comfortable, low-frequency stimulation deep in the tissue. We deliver it from a BTL combined-therapy unit with vacuum electrodes, which hold the pads in place without straps; the same unit also provides TENS and therapeutic ultrasound.
What it's used for
- Pain relief – thought to work by modulating nerve activity and encouraging the body's own pain-relieving chemicals
- Swelling and fluid circulation – helping lymphatic drainage after injury
- Circulation – increasing local blood flow to support healing
- Muscle spasm – relaxing overactive muscles from poor posture or overuse
IFT is an adjunct used within a treatment plan after your assessment, not a stand-alone appointment.
Add-on treatments (£35 · 15 min) are added to an initial assessment or follow-up visit and cannot be booked on their own. Equipment-based treatments follow an initial assessment.
