Core treatments
Focused Shockwave Therapy (FSWT)
High-energy, non-invasive treatment for stubborn tendon and chronic pain problems such as plantar fasciitis and tennis elbow.

What is focused shockwave?
Focused shockwave therapy (FSWT) delivers precise acoustic pulses to a targeted depth in the tissue. It is used with the aim of stimulating healing in chronic tendon problems; evidence suggests it may help break down calcific deposits and reduce long-standing pain. Our clinic uses a piezoelectric focused shockwave unit: interchangeable heads let the clinician set the focal depth from about 5 mm to 40 mm, so the energy reaches the tendon or bone surface being treated.
What it may help with
- Plantar fasciitis and heel pain
- Tennis / golfer's elbow
- Achilles and patellar tendinopathy
- Calcific shoulder tendinopathy
- Chronic muscle trigger points
A typical course
Usually 3–6 sessions, about a week apart, each delivering around 2,000 shocks to a single area (or more for multiple areas). It is mildly uncomfortable rather than painful, and you can walk out and carry on with your day.
Insurance
Some policies do not cover shockwave — please check with your insurer first.
